Overview of Role: The Housing assistant directs miscellaneous calls to
appropriate staff and assists the staff with filing paperwork,
processing invoices, issuing work orders for the MW housing development
and handling procurement requests. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Perform in-takes for clients that need additional
assistance with filling out applications. Process all incoming invoices
for the housing department and housing development and follow proper
finance policies for storing vital information. Prepare housing mail and
pay proper attention to important letters that may affect a client?s
living situation. Follow up with tenants who may have questions about
rent or their unit. Draft maintenance and inspection notices to MW
development tenants. Follow-up with tenant request for repairs and place
work orders accordingly. Assist in maintaining the housing departments
electronic and hard copy filing systems, forms, applications, and
program notices to comply with regulations. Provide tenants and clients
with reference material to outside rental assistance resources when
needed. Travel and attend trainings and meetings on-site and off-site as
needed. Maintain confidentiality, especially within the tribal
community. Communicate effectively in writing and orally. Performs other
duties as assigned by Housing Director. Qualifications: Show respect and
sensitivity to Tribal citizens and Tribal culture. Follow policies and
procedures; Complete administrative tasks correctly and on time. Exhibit
sound and accurate judgment, trouble-shoot, and strategize for
solutions. Attendance/ Punctuality - Consistently arrive to work on
time. React well under pressure; Treat others with respect regardless of
their status, position or family relations. Excellent analytical and
problem-solving skills. Ability to solve basic mathematical problems.

have the capability of learning other housing programs. Ability to
navigate the internet to locate HUD regulations and conduct other
various housing searches. Ability to read and interpret reports,
procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions Minimum
Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have a High School diploma or its
equivalent (GED) and a minimum of 1 year of experience in an office
setting, Low-income Housing development management, other Low-income
family programs, Social Work, Human Services, or a combination of
education and experience to provide sufficient evidence of the
successful performance of the essential elements of the job. Must
possess a valid driver?s license. Additional Requirements: Must submit
to and pass a comprehensive background check. Must be able to travel for
official business on occasion. Must be able to attend meetings evenings
