We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Bridge Foreman to oversee and manage the daily operations of bridge construction and maintenance projects. The Bridge Foreman will lead a crew of workers, coordinate activities with project managers and engineers, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain quality standards throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead bridge construction and repair crews.
- Interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Plan daily work activities and allocate tasks to crew members.
- Ensure that all work is completed on schedule and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
- Oversee the use and maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Inspect work sites to monitor progress and ensure safety compliance.
- Communicate effectively with engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
- Train and mentor crew members on construction techniques and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and equipment usage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification in construction management or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in bridge construction, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of bridge construction techniques, equipment, and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- OSHA certification is a plus.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and travel to job sites as needed.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor construction sites, often near roadways, rivers, or elevated structures.
- Physically demanding role requiring standing for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
- Must be able to work at heights all the time.
