Key Responsibilities
- Live Play-by-Play: Provide real-time play-by-play commentary during all home and road games, describing the action and keeping audiences informed on scores, statistics, and game developments.
- Game Analysis: Offer expert insights during breaks in play, highlighting strategies, player performances, and key moments.
- Interviews: Conduct pre- and post-game interviews with players, coaches, and staff to give fans behind-the-scenes perspectives.
- Show Hosting: Lead pre-game and post-game shows, including previews, analysis, and recaps of Mustangs games.
- Content Creation: Produce engaging written and digital content for team platforms, including game recaps, articles, and broadcast scripts.
- Fan Engagement: Represent the Mustangs professionally on-air and through digital platforms, strengthening fan connection to the team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, energetic, and engaging commentary.
- In-depth knowledge of baseball, including rules, strategies, and player performance analysis.
- Ability to research and provide accurate, up-to-date information during broadcasts.
- Familiarity with broadcasting equipment, streaming platforms, and multimedia tools.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, live-event environment.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel with the team as required.
Preferred Background
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, broadcasting, sports management, or related field.
- Previous experience in play-by-play broadcasting, preferably in baseball.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging sports content across multiple platforms.
Work Environment
The broadcaster will work in a dynamic sports environment, including ballparks, press boxes, and remote broadcasting locations. The role requires irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel with the team.
