Job Title: Legal Assistant, Workers’ Compensation
Reports to: Attorney Team Leader, HR Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Logs in records to client files including mail, medical records, medical bills, discovery
- Schedules depositions, client appointments, referral lunches, client meetings
- Assembles the medical index and follows up on the acquisition of medical records
- May organize evidence, schedule witnesses and ensure witnesses are ready when needed
Other Responsibilities
- Scans all incoming mail documents
- Prep files for depositions and mediations
- Confirm client appointments, depositions
- Takes new client intake calls (after 90 days on the job)
- Closes files and then strips down the files
- Translating for clients and attorneys

- Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with attention to detail
- Possesses sound judgment and is decisive
- Legal experience (preferred)

Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma required. Some college highly preferred.
- At least one year of Workers' Compensation experience is preferred.
- Case management system experience is not required but highly preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to write basic business correspondence in both English and Spanish
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, and preferably a Case Management software. Strong typing skills required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
