Be a part of our Martin Equipment family!  Martin Equipment is a John Deere Construction Dealership, family-owned for almost 100-years.  This position provides a full range of administrative support duties for the dealership location. These duties include general office, accounting, and administrative tasks, and may involve confidential and sensitive information. An important function of this role is to exercise excellent communication with external customers and internal employees. With proper time management and attention to detail this position supports all departments of the dealership. Must be reliable, dependable, come to work with a good attitude and passion for the role, and enjoy a fulfilling customer service and support role.   Working hours for this position are 7a - 4p in our Dubuque location.

 

Essential Functions:  

  • Professionally administer all incoming phone calls and ensure they are redirected accordingly. 

  • Greet visitors in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner. 

  • Balance daily cash sales and petty cash for branch. 

  • Reconcile bank statement and credit card expenses monthly for branch.  

  • Code all invoices to be paid and send to Accounts Payable Department for processing.  

  • Assist with Sales Paperwork Processing. 

  • Process Rentals and Equipment Status Reports. 

  • Assist Human Resources with announcements and New Employee Onboarding. 

  • Process John Deere parts invoices.  

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Run reports to assist various departments with inventory. 

  • File paperwork. 

  • Maintain office equipment.  

  • Send mail to and receive mail from other dealership locations, post office, etc. 

  • Perform part runs for the Parts Department, as needed. 

  • Order sales literature and office supplies. 

  • Assist in planning branch luncheons and celebrations. 

  • Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. 

 

Education and Experience:  

  • A High School Diploma or GED required.  

  • Business school, Associate’s degree or equivalent is desired. 

  • 1-3 years of related experience.  

 

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint). 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • A professional appearance and telephone manner is essential. 

  • Possess strong organizational skills and be detail oriented. 

  • Ability to multi-task critical. 

  • Must have good command of the English language, oral and written. 

  • Able to work with minimal supervision. 

  • Act with honesty and integrity. Be passionate. 

 

Physical Demands:  

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time 

  • Light lifting < 25 lbs. 

  • Adequate vision and hearing for use of computer and telephone 

 

Personal Protective Equipment:  

  • Proper PPE required where indicated throughout the branch 

 

Work Environment: 

  • Role operates in an office environment 

  • Requires use of standard office equipment 

  • Requires valid driver’s license
