Marshfield Chevrolet is hiring a Diesel Technician to join our growing service department!
We’re looking for an experienced, motivated technician who takes pride in diagnosing and repairing vehicles correctly the first time. If you have diesel experience and want to work for an established dealership where your skills and productivity are rewarded, we want to hear from you.
PAY: UP TO $50 PER HOUR
Starting pay is based on experience, certifications, and qualifications, with earning potential up to $50/hour.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Diesel Technician at Marshfield Chevrolet, you will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel-powered vehicles, with an emphasis on Chevrolet and GM Duramax diesel trucks.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Diagnose diesel engine, fuel, electrical, emissions, and drivability concerns
- Perform engine repairs and major mechanical work
- Diagnose and repair Duramax diesel engines and related systems
- Perform diesel fuel system diagnosis and repairs
- Diagnose DEF, DPF, EGR, turbocharger, and emissions-related concerns
- Perform transmission, drivetrain, steering, suspension, and brake repairs
- Use scan tools and diagnostic equipment to accurately identify vehicle concerns
- Perform scheduled maintenance and manufacturer-recommended services
- Complete multi-point vehicle inspections
- Identify and communicate additional needed repairs or maintenance
- Document diagnostic findings and repairs accurately on repair orders
- Follow GM and dealership repair procedures
- Maintain an organized and professional work area
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards
- Work closely with service advisors and other technicians to provide an excellent customer experience
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Previous diesel technician or heavy-duty repair experience preferred
- GM/Duramax experience is a major plus
- Strong diagnostic and electrical skills
- Ability to perform both minor and major mechanical repairs
- Must have your own basic technician tools
- Valid driver's license
- Dependable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- ASE and GM certifications are preferred but not required
- Willingness to continue training and developing technical skills
