Student Recruiters in the Office of Recruitment are responsible for the overall management of an assigned recruitment territory, guiding students from prospect and inquiry through application, admission, and enrollment. This position provides leadership and oversight for recruitment and enrollment activities within the assigned territory, including both assigned and self-initiated outreach efforts.
While each recruiter is assigned a specific territory to support consistency and relationship-building, territory assignments are subject to change based on institutional needs. Territories are evaluated and may be re-balanced periodically using data-informed decision-making, including factors such as application volume, enrollment outcomes, geographic considerations, and workload distribution to ensure equitable coverage and maximize effectiveness, in alignment with institutional enrollment management priorities.
The Student Recruiter is expected to build relationships with prospective students, families, school counselors, and community partners; represent Marshall University through outreach and travel; and meet established performance standards and enrollment goals.
Work Environment and Travel
This position requires frequent travel, including overnight travel, as well as evening and weekend work. Recruiters are expected to represent the university at events both on and off campus and must be able to manage travel schedules effectively.
Valid driver’s license necessary. Must be eligible for hotel and car rental agreements.
Salary Range $35,568 - $43,396; Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and internal equity. Salary Type Salary Time Type Full-Time Work Location MU - Marshall University

Education
Bachelor’s degree
Experience
Six months of experience in higher education or an active undergraduate experience at an institution of higher education or other relevant experience (i.e., sales, customer service, teaching, tabeling events). Valid driver’s license necessary. Must be eligible for hotel and car rental agreements.
Preferred Qualifications

One year of experience admissions/recruiting/advising/higher education or an active undergraduate experience at an institution of higher education or other relevant experience (i.e., sales, customer service, marketing, tabeling events).
