Job Description Summary
- Provide one-on-one academic tutoring to teach and reteach concepts to H.E.L.P. students
- Offer assistance with developing study strategies
- Work with students to develop a plan that fits the student’s individual needs
- Assist students in developing a schedule for study sessions
- Clarify/augment student notes from lecture
- Teach concepts using multi-sensory techniques to maximize student understanding and recall
- Teach organization and time managements skills
- Monitor students’ progress through communication with students and professors
- Send legal notification to professors regarding students’ with disabilities and accommodations
- Organize and facilitate testing accommodations according to students’ diagnosis for compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act and Vocational Rehabilitation Act
- Proctor exams under the supervision of staff monitor
- Maintain student attendance records
- Notify students and parents regarding students’ absences from tutoring sessions
- Write End of Semester Reports for each student
- Participate in weekly tutor training and development sessions
