The Role
We’re hiring a People Manager (General Manager) to lead operations across two locations in Larkspur and Berkeley. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on team performance, accountability, and running clean, efficient salons.
Responsibilities
- Travel weekly between Berkeley and Larkspur locations
- Required weekly schedule Tuesday-Saturday, plus some Sundays
- Own staffing, payroll, inventory, and daily operations across a team of 35
- Manage all HR; handle employee relations and coach through issues
- Mentor and develop salon managers and staff to build strong teams
- Step in to support front desk operations as needed
- Monitor financial performance, budgeting, and cost controls
- Engage with guests to gather feedback and improve experience
- Execute local marketing initiatives, promotions, and events
- Partner with ownership on growth and operational improvements
Qualifications
- 3 years of multi-unit management experience (salon, retail, hospitality, or similar)
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and hold teams accountable
- Solid understanding of HR best practices and team development
- Experience with marketing, promotions, or event coordination
- Business-minded with strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized, reliable, and hands-on
