Position Overview

The Forecast Analyst on MPG’s Healthcare Omnichannel Drug – Walgreens team turns data into action. You’ll synthesize Walgreens retail data, syndicated sources, and digital shelf signals to uncover growth opportunities, strengthen the joint business plan, and support flawless commercial execution across in-store and Walgreens.com. You’ll partner closely with account leads, shopper/eComm, supply chain, and client teams to drive revenue, share, and profitability.

This position reports to the Walgreens Analytics Manager and is does not have people management responsibilities.

This is a remote position based in Chicago, IL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Forecasting & Planning Support
    • Support demand planning with consumption-led forecasts; reconcile shipment vs. consumption gaps and bias.
    • Partner with supply chain on in-stock health, weeks of supply, DC constraints, and new item ramp-ups.
    • Forecast within Walgreens Antuit Platform
    • Maintain numerous connection points with Walgreens Demand Planners and key client contacts
  • Business Performance & Reporting
    • Build and automate weekly POS, shipment, inventory, and promo performance dashboards for Walgreens (store .com).
    • Track sales vs. plan, price/promo compliance, distribution, and item/shelf availability; flag risks and opportunities.
  • Insights & Storytelling
    • Translate complex data into concise, visual narratives and sell-in decks for internal reviews and Walgreens meetings.
    • Deliver post-event analyses (promotions, displays, media) with clear drivers, lessons, and next-step recommendations.
  • Promo & Price Analytics
    • Evaluate promo ROI, lift, and cannibalization; recommend optimal price-pack-promo tactics by banner/region.
    • Maintain promo calendars, guardrails, and performance scorecards.
  • Data Stewardship & Tools
    • Own data pipelines and QA across retailer portals and syndicated sources (e.g., NIQ/Circana); improve refresh cadence and accuracy.
    • Build scalable templates in Excel/Power BI/Tableau; document methodologies and assumptions.
  • Cross-Functional Partnering
    • Collaborate with Sales, eCommerce, Shopper/Marketing, Finance, and Client teams to align on KPIs and actions.
    • Prepare materials for QBRs, line reviews, and joint planning sessions.
Qualifications & Required Skills

  • Willingness and ability to travel 5%-10% in a year.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Economics, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of CPG/retail analytics experience; drug channel and/or Walgreens experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel (Power Query, pivot tables, complex formulas); strong PowerPoint for executive storytelling.
  • Proficiency in Power BI or Tableau for dashboarding; SQL and/or Python/R a plus.
  • Experience with syndicated data (NIQ/Circana) and retailer data/portals; familiarity with retail media metrics is a plus.
  • Strong commercial acumen—able to connect insights to actions that drive sales, share, and profit.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication; able to simplify complex analyses for senior audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong QA habits; organized, proactive, and comfortable in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Proven cross-functional partner with Sales, Marketing/Shopper, eComm, and Supply Chain.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and responding to evolving business needs.
