This is a hybrid position based out of our Bentonville, AR office. The selected candidate will be expected to work onsite three days per week.

Position Overview

The Senior Digital Account Manager will serve as a key client-facing lead responsible for managing digital commerce programs across Walmart.com, Walmart Connect, and connected ecommerce, retail media, and shopper marketing touchpoints.

This role partners closely with Digital Commerce leadership and Sales leadership to translate client business objectives into actionable digital commerce plans across digital shelf optimization, content, SEO, paid search, retail media, item readiness, reporting, inventory availability, and performance optimization. The Senior Digital Account Manager is responsible for driving day-to-day account leadership, managing priorities across internal and external teams, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring high-quality execution across assigned client workstreams.

This role requires strong knowledge of the Walmart.com ecosystem, omni Walmart metrics, the ability to interpret digital commerce and retail media data, collaboration and team leadership skills, and communication skills to turn insights into clear recommendations that improve visibility, conversion, ROAS/ROI, shopper engagement, and ecommerce performance.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Digital Commerce Account Management

  • Serve as the day-to-day digital commerce lead for assigned clients across Walmart.com, Walmart Connect, retail media, and shopper marketing priorities.
  • Partner with Sales Directors or Sr. Directors to develop annual and quarterly digital commerce plans aligned to client goals, Walmart.com opportunities, retail media priorities, content needs, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead recurring client status meetings, performance reviews, workstream updates, and internal account discussions.
  • Translate ecommerce, digital shelf, and retail media performance into clear insights, business implications, and recommended next steps.
  • Proactively identify growth opportunities, performance risks, content gaps, search opportunities, media optimization needs, budget considerations, and executional barriers.
  • Build trusted client relationships by demonstrating ownership, responsiveness, strategic thinking, and strong follow-through.
  • Support QBRs, executive summaries, annual planning, and client presentations in partnership with Digital Commerce leadership.

Walmart.com Digital Shelf & Ecommerce Optimization

  • Manage digital shelf health and optimization across assigned client portfolios on Walmart.com.
  • Conduct and oversee digital shelf audits covering content quality, SEO, stock availability, pricing integrity, Buy Box ownership, item suppression, search ranking, ratings and reviews signals, and competitive positioning.
  • Partner with internal teams, clients, and service providers to improve product titles, descriptions, attributes, imagery, rich media, enhanced content, and keyword alignment.
  • Support new item setup, content syndication, item readiness, launch preparation, catalog issue resolution, and PDP best practices.
  • Monitor Walmart.com platform updates, content standards, item setup requirements, marketplace considerations, and digital shelf trends that may affect client performance.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements that improve speed, quality, and consistency of digital shelf execution.

Retail Media, Shopper Marketing & Walmart Connect Support

  • Partner with internal media teams and external service providers to support Walmart Connect and shopper marketing programs, including Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, display, off-platform media, retailer.com activations, and connected shopper experiences.
  • Help connect organic digital shelf priorities with paid media planning to support a total search and total commerce approach.
  • Ensure campaign plans align with client objectives, inventory realities, promotional timing, launch calendars, seasonal priorities, and budget expectations.
  • Review campaign performance, identify optimization opportunities, and recommend adjustments to keywords, audiences, budgets, timing, or content based on performance trends.
  • Track media and shopper marketing deliverables, timelines, inputs, reporting needs, and follow-ups across internal teams and external partners.
  • Support budget pacing, campaign documentation, service provider coordination, and performance recaps.

Performance Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyze performance across Walmart.com, Walmart Connect, digital shelf tools, retail media platforms, Walmart Scintilla, and other available data sources.
  • Evaluate ecommerce revenue trends, ROAS/ROI, conversion rate, click-through rate, share of search, content health, Buy Box status, stock availability, media attribution, shopper engagement, and competitive activity.
  • Build weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports that clearly explain performance drivers, risks, opportunities, and prioritized actions.
  • Create client-ready scorecards, dashboards, recaps, and recommendations that support content improvements, campaign optimization, and budget decisions.
  • Partner with analytics and account teams to ensure reporting is accurate, actionable, and connected to broader client business priorities.
  • Maintain consistent measurement practices across assigned client workstreams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution Excellence

  • Coordinate across MPG media, creative, analytics, digital shelf, operations, finance, account, and leadership teams to ensure seamless delivery of digital commerce work.
  • Manage timelines, campaign inputs, content requests, assets, reporting needs, budget details, invoice support, and service provider deliverables.
  • Serve as an escalation point for executional issues, digital shelf concerns, campaign delays, data discrepancies, and client follow-ups.
  • Balance strategic account leadership with hands-on execution when needed.
  • Maintain strong organization, urgency, accountability, and attention to detail across multiple clients and workstreams.
  • Mentor Associate Digital Account Managers, analysts, or support resources as needed by reviewing work, clarifying priorities, sharing best practices, and helping develop digital commerce capability.
  • Contribute ideas, insights, and process improvements that strengthen MPG’s digital commerce offering.

Required

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Digital Commerce, or related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 4–6 years of experience in CPG ecommerce, digital commerce, retail media, shopper marketing, client management, retail agency, ecommerce consultancy, or related environment.
  • Strong understanding of the Walmart.com ecosystem, including digital shelf management, Item 360, Retail Link, Walmart Connect, organic search, paid search, content standards, and retailer.com performance levers.
  • Experience managing client relationships, account priorities, project timelines, reporting needs, and cross-functional deliverables.
  • Ability to analyze ecommerce, digital shelf, and retail media data and translate findings into clear recommendations.
  • Experience supporting or managing retail media and shopper marketing programs across paid search, display, sponsored products/brands, off-platform media, retailer.com activations, or related programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop client-ready updates, recaps, scorecards, and presentations.
  • High proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable working with spreadsheets, dashboards, reporting platforms, and business intelligence tools.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and follow-through in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.

Preferred

  • Experience managing CPG accounts across health and wellness, food and beverage, personal care, home, hardlines, or related categories.
  • Experience within a broker, agency, retail media, ecommerce consultancy, or multi-client portfolio environment.
  • Experience using Walmart Scintilla Basic or Charter, digital shelf analytics tools, retail media platforms, or tools such as Skai, Pacvue, Profitero, Edge by Ascential, Google/Looker Studio, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with Walmart marketplace models, DSV, Walmart Fulfillment Services, Buy Box dynamics, item setup workflows, and catalog troubleshooting.
  • Experience coordinating with agency partners, service providers, creative teams, analytics teams, or media execution teams.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members or supporting team development.

Senior Digital Account Manager Soft Skills
