Brief Description
Data Visualization Architect
About Mpg
Market Performance Group (MPG) is a leading end-to-end, strategy & services omnichannel commerce agency focused on creating the best PATH FORWARD — from market strategy to in-market reality — for today’s fastest-growing consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturers. Over the years, we’ve built a strong reputation as a trusted partner and valuable resource to a broad range of companies, from Fortune 500 to Private Equity, in categories that include health & wellness, food & beverage, home and hardlines. We revel in the opportunity to guide our clients on their path forward, building and activating strategies that ensure success. Everything we do is driven by our unrelenting commitment to leverage our deep operational experience, unparalleled omnichannel expertise, and industry relationships to drive performance in today’s dynamic omnichannel marketplace.
At MPG, we value our people and their contributions; they are critical to building the MPG Brand. Our leadership team has significant experience driving topline revenue and bottom-line profit, having held senior operating roles at leading CPG manufacturers and retailers. Our highly regarded, seasoned team of 400 strategy and commercialization professionals brings strong operational experience and a collaborative approach. All team members are singularly focused on providing clients with pragmatic, real-world market approaches, built on the strong consumer, category and marketplace insights needed to create sustainable, profitable brand growth.
Position Overview
MPG's Enterprise Analytics Solutions team translates complex client data needs into best-in-class dashboards and data delivery solutions. We help clients turn retail and consumer data into clear, trusted, and actionable insights that support better commercial decisions.
We are looking for a Data Visualization Architect - Manager to own and manage the visualization practice that brings these solutions to life. You will define and maintain standards for dashboard design, metric quality, and delivery in Domo; serve as a subject-matter expert for visualization best practices; and partner with client and internal teams to translate business questions into intuitive analytical products.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone equally comfortable shaping visualization standards, building in no-code tools, and reviewing the details behind a number. Our work spans retail analytics across major retailers and syndicated data sources such as NielsenIQ (NIQ), Circana, and Stackline, so success requires both strong analytical judgment and best-in-class visual craft.
What You'll Do
Required
This is an opportunity to define what excellent client-facing data visualization looks like at MPG. You will shape a practice that sits at the point where trusted retail data becomes action, raising the bar for metric consistency, user experience, visual design, and the delivery of analytical solutions clients rely on.
The visualization practice is early enough that the standards, governance, and reusable patterns you establish will matter for years. If you want hands-on ownership of both excellent dashboard delivery and a durable company-wide visualization discipline, this role offers meaningful scope and visible impact.
Benefits
MPG offers a generous package of health benefits, including medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD, paid maternity/paternity leave and life insurance. Our compensation program provides market-industry base salary, bonuses, and 401K. In addition to paid holidays, we reward an employee’s extra efforts through unlimited paid time off.
Diversity and Inclusion
MPG provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
We are committed to ensuring that Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI&B) are at the foundation of our culture. Through DEI&B, we embrace the beauty in all of the unique qualities of our employees, communities and clients. MPG’s DEI&B efforts empower us to collectively reach our full potential by fueling innovation, connection, and growth. We recognize the value of having a diverse and engaged team. We are an organization driven by PEOPLE. Our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging was born from our core values. We believe that by leveraging the unique perspectives and experiences of our employees, MPG can unlock more comprehensive, innovative, and long-standing results for both our client and retailer partners. As our journey continues to evolve, we have made intentional commitments to further champion DEI&B. The foundation of our pledge starts with our promise to each other, our clients, and the community.

What You'll Do
- Manage the visualization practice and roadmap, establishing and maintaining standards for dashboard architecture, information design, accessibility, governance, documentation, and reuse.
- Create and maintain reusable dashboard templates, design patterns, documentation, and quality-review practices that help teams produce consistent, high-quality visualizations.
- Design and deliver high-impact dashboards and analytical experiences in Domo, using Magic ETL and similar no-code transformation tools to prepare fit-for-purpose datasets.
- Define and review business metrics using Beast Modes, calculated fields, and comparable formula languages, ensuring definitions are consistent, explainable, and reusable.
- Partner with client and internal teams to uncover the decisions behind their requests, translate data needs into effective dashboards and delivery solutions, and manage scope, expectations, and adoption.
- Build quality controls that validate source data, transformations, calculations, filters, and presentation so users can trust both the numbers and their context.
- Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams on data models, performance, governance, and repeatable delivery practices that scale across clients, retailers, and data sources.
Required
- 5 years of experience delivering business intelligence, analytics, or data visualization solutions, including ownership of complex visualization work, standards, or cross-functional initiatives.
- Hands-on proficiency with a no-code or low-code visualization platform (Domo preferred; Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik, or similar experience is relevant).
- Experience using no-code data transformation tools such as Domo Magic ETL, Tableau Prep, Power Query, Alteryx, Dataiku, or comparable platforms.
- Strong experience creating calculated metrics with tools such as Domo Beast Modes, DAX, Tableau calculations, LookML, or similar formula languages.
- A solid grounding in analytical data concepts, including grain, dimensions, measures, joins, aggregation, filtering, and the ways modeling choices affect results.
- A rigorous approach to data accuracy: you validate logic, reconcile outputs, document definitions, and do not publish numbers you have not checked.
- A strong eye for UX/UI, information hierarchy, interaction design, accessibility, and visual polish, with a portfolio or examples that demonstrate excellent work.
- Clear communication and strong stakeholder management, with the ability to turn ambiguous business questions into priorities, specifications, and measurable outcomes.
- Experience administering or governing Domo, including datasets, cards, pages, permissions, certification, performance, or content lifecycle management.
- Experience with retail, CPG, or e-commerce analytics, including retailer data and syndicated sources such as NielsenIQ (NIQ), Circana, Stackline, or comparable platforms.
- Experience establishing a design system, component library, dashboard templates, or a formal visualization review process.
- Familiarity with SQL, dimensional modeling, data catalogs, version control, or modern cloud data warehouses.
- Curiosity about AI/LLM-powered products and how conversational analytics can complement well-designed visual experiences.
