The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for the assembly and/or fabrication of mechanical parts, pieces or products according to the required specifications within the assigned area of production.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
- Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw and drill gun.
- Maintain inventory of products in workstations.
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
- Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
Education & Experience
- High School or Equivalent.
- Requires 1-2 years related experience.
- Ability to read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions and understand electrical diagrams.
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.
- Must pass an assembly test.
- Basic knowledge for proper use of hand tools: tape measure, drills, pneumatic air tools.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are a must.
- Ability to read and comprehend documents and follow simple instructions.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb and use hands to grip regularly.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
- Possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
- Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined.
