OPEN JOB POSITION: Pediatric Counselor
Title: Pediatric Counselor (Associates OK, supervision provided)
Location: Atascadero, CA
Company Description(s): We are a multi-disciplinary therapy agency with three service divisions: 1) Early Start (birth-3) and 2) School Age (3-16), 3) Counseling (all ages).
Job Description:
- Provide clinic-based weekly psychotherapy and counseling services to patients of ages under 16 years old/pediatrics as well as adults.
- Provide services at a one-of-a-kind inclusion preschool in Atascadero, CA
- Ability to co-treat with other professionals at our inclusion site
- Perform mental health/clinical assessments
- Perform psychotherapy within perspective scope of practice
- Diagnose and treat psychological and emotional disorders, whether cognitive, affective, or behavioral within the context of marriage and family systems.
- Treatment planning
- Manage clients on a caseload and develop appropriate treatment services for each individual situation.
- Respond promptly to any incoming referrals
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Master's degree in marriage and family therapy or a related mental health field.
- CA license required to practice; and in good standing with the BBS.
- AMFT and ACSW applicants with appropriate background and experience are highly welcomed, supervision provided (Employee status).
- Spanish/bilingual skills preferred but not a must (verbal and written).
- Must have At least 1-2 years’ experience treating children and/or adolescents with significant behavioral and emotional challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong work ethic and professional conduct.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and good writing.
- Has strong interpersonal skills/team oriented.
- Is inclusive and sensitive to diversity.
- Must possess proof of malpractice insurance liability.
