Custodian II Building: Harding High School

The position of a 6-hour Custodian II, shift TBD is now open. Please note the job description is attached. This is a 12 month – 260 days at 6 hours per day total of 1560 hours per year position as per salary schedule. Normal working hours are as assigned.

Second Shift Employees Receive $.15 Extra On the Hour

JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Custodian II

RESPONSIBLE TO: Head Custodian/Building Principal/Buildings and Grounds Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Custodial/Maintenance

CLASSIFICATION: Custodian II

LENGTH OF CONTRACT: Depending on position, a Custodian II could be 780 hours 2080 per year.

Custodian II positions (hours per day) include 5, 6 and 8

hours – depending on building and situation. All are 12 month contract (260 days) as assigned. Working hours are as assigned.

GENERAL DUTIES: The Custodian II performs designated duties involving the cleanliness and sanitation of the school to which it is assigned. The essential functions of this job do require lifting and pushing of furniture, trash barrels, boxes, and other equipment.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

• Follows a regular schedule of cleaning and dusting in the assigned area.
• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms daily in assigned areas.
• Refers to the head custodian, supervisor, or to the building principal any area in need of special maintenance repair.
• Maintains the security and safety of the building in assigned areas.
• Refills toilet paper, towel, soap, and sanitary napkin dispensers when necessary in assigned areas.
• Takes pride in personal appearance by keeping clean and clothing neat.
• Maintains a high level of personal conduct on the job so as to establish good relationships with the students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the public.
• Performs such other duties as assigned by the head custodian, principal or facilities supervisor.
