Maintenance Technician, Level 2 – First Shift
Location: Raymond, OH

Join our dedicated maintenance team at Nature Pure, a family-owned and operated organic egg farm. We're seeking a First-Shift Maintenance Technician, Level 2 with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, structural, plumbing, and equipment maintenance and repair.
Person(s) must be able to work independently and manage their time effectively. Technician will perform a variety of simple to semi-advanced to advanced tasks in the maintenance of a feed mill, offices, poultry houses, processing equipment, vehicles, and general grounds keeping. Technician will need to travel between farms and have a full depth knowledge of all equipment. This position is a fully hands on position with minimal office work, mostly in regards to updating PM program or departmental meetings. Occasional leadership and training of others will be required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance Technician duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues involving electrical, mechanical, structural, plumbing, and equipment controls.
- Aid in maintenance and repair, of egg processing, poultry house, and feed mill equipment.
- Utilize maintenance management software system for documenting and tracking maintenance and repairs.
- Perform troubleshooting, breakdown analysis, and root cause analysis to improve equipment effectiveness and performance.
- Manage parts inventories.
- Perform preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications.
- Work with OEM/vendor to improve operation of equipment as required.
- Maintain company fleet of vehicles, trailers, and mobile equipment.
- Support installations and improvement projects for other advanced production/farming equipment.
- Regularly inspect buildings and equipment.
- Perform building maintenance—caulk windows and doors, repair the interior and exterior of buildings (i.e. fix broken windows, patch holes, repair and replace door closures, doorknobs, locks), painting interior and exterior surfaces.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Skilled and experienced in plumbing, electrical, mechanical carpentry and welding.
- Knowledge and skill in the use of machinery and a variety of hand and power tools pertinent to job duties.
- Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance Work and documenting in a CMMS.
- Perform troubleshooting, breakdown analysis, and root cause analysis.
- Work with and direct activities of outside contractors.
- Skill in reading and following schematics, blueprints, manuals, and assembly instructions.
- Skills in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Work independently under limited supervision (self-management).
- Documentation of work schedule and work tasks completed.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Basic computer and tablet skills for simple write-ups required for audits or reports.
- Experience and familiarity with HVAC systems, electrical motors; capable to run electrical wire and conduits.
- Good working knowledge of conveyor systems, packaging machinery, pumps, gear reduction boxes, dicers, and other processing & farm machinery.
- Ability to work in close quarters with animals in a mindful way that does not cause stress or harm to the animals or self.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Job requires the ability to work in all weather and climate conditions (cold, hot, loud, and humid). There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, lift heavy objects (minimum of 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during a typical workday.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Maintenance certification or 3 years' experience as a maintenance mechanic/technician.
- 1 year experience working on motors, electrical systems, control panels, PLC, and electric control systems.
- 1 year experience and working knowledge lubrication, fabrication, pneumatic and hydraulics.
- Experience with vehicle and heavy equipment repair.
- Working knowledge of conveyor systems, packaging machinery, pumps, gear reduction boxes, dicers, and other processing and farm machinery.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Good time management skills and ability to work independently.
- Skill in reading and following schematics, blueprints, manuals, and assembly instructions.
- Experienced in carpentry and welding.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Basic computer and tablet skills.
- Documentation of work tasks completed.

Regular time as we are agriculture exempt – opportunity for more hours than most OT plants
