Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care, using specialized techniques to reduce confusion and agitation
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols while maintaining accurate documentation
- Engage residents through meaningful activities, social interactions, and behavioral management strategies to foster well-being
- Operate manual handling techniques safely during resident transfers and assist with safe patient lifting practices
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control standards
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and memory care best practices
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care with compassion and professionalism
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training is encouraged
- Experience working with individuals with developmental or cognitive disabilities is advantageous
- Ability to operate a standard passenger car safely when needed for client transportation or errands
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely throughout shifts
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
