Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or cognitive disabilities, utilizing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Engage residents in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and social interaction
- Practice safe patient lifting techniques and manual handling procedures to prevent injury for both residents and staff
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and meal preparation
- Communicate effectively with residents’ families, healthcare providers, and team members to ensure coordinated care plans
- Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures and CPR to respond promptly during emergencies
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through compassionate listening and respectful interaction
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, geriatrics, and long-term care practices
- Experience assisting with ADLs and providing personal care in home or community settings
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or safe patient lifting are a plus
- Ability to operate standard passenger vehicles for client transportation when needed
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents with disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely throughout shifts
