We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team, focusing on grades 7-12. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Adapt general education lessons and materials to meet the varying needs of students.
- Provide specialized instruction in small group and one-on-one settings.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Assess student progress regularly and revise teaching plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and instructional strategies.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid state certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with middle and high school students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and community members.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting the academic and social development of students with special needs.
