Special Education Teacher Grades 7-12

Starting salary based on Step schedule step 1 to 10

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team, focusing on grades 7-12. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse learning needs and a commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment. Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Adapt general education lessons and materials to meet the varying needs of students.
• Provide specialized instruction in small group and one-on-one settings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure comprehensive support for students.
• Assess student progress regularly and revise teaching plans as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and attendance.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and instructional strategies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid state certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with middle and high school students with diverse learning needs.
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and community members.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting the academic and social development of students with special needs.
