Class A Driver Day Shift Manual

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class A Driver to join our team for daytime manual driving operations. Duties

• Operate Class A tractor-trailer trucks with manual transmissions to deliver freight efficiently across designated routes during daytime hours.
• Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other equipment, ensuring proper handling of refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized vehicles.
• Safely secure loads on flatbeds, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, or tanker trailers to prevent shifting during transit.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking brakes, tires, lights, and load security to maintain safety standards.
• Follow planned routes accurately while managing delivery schedules and communicating any delays or issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Assist with route planning to optimize efficiency and ensure timely deliveries while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience operating manual transmission trucks in a commercial setting.
• Knowledge of freight handling procedures including load & unload operations for refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other loading/unloading machinery safely when required.
• Experience driving tractor-trailers over long distances with route driving familiarity.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations related to trucking, including hours of service and vehicle maintenance standards.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating deliveries and reporting issues effectively.
• Physical ability to load/unload freight manually or with equipment as needed; capable of lifting heavy items when necessary.
