SUMMARY:


The Senior HR Generalist supports and advances all human resources functions at our manufacturing plant. Reporting to the HR Manager, this position provides practical, solutions-focused HR support to employees and leaders. The Senior HR Generalist manages recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and engagement, while serving as a trusted advisor on daily HR matters. This hands-on role requires regular presence on the plant floor to build relationships, support supervisors, and foster a safe, positive, and productive work environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Employee Relations & Labor Support

  • Partner with the HR Manager and Plant Leadership on employee relations and investigations, ensuring fair and consistent policy application.
  • Support a positive labor environment through regular floor presence, proactive communication, and trust-building across shifts.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage full-cycle hourly recruiting, including job postings, screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding preparation.
  • Lead new hire onboarding and orientation, ensuring timely and accurate HRIS documentation and Day 1 readiness in partnership with Safety, Training, and IT.
  • Maintain compliance with Affirmative Action Plans (AAP) and all pre-employment requirements.
  • Represent the company at job fairs and community hiring events.

HR Administration & Payroll Support

  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee records, I-9s, and personnel files.
  • Support HR audits, training compliance, and record accuracy.
  • Review and approve weekly timecards; track attendance, PTO, and recognition programs such as Gainshare and Perfect Attendance.


Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Lead plant-level engagement and recognition efforts to strengthen morale and retention.
  • Plan and execute employee events with the engagement committee (e.g., appreciation weeks, service awards, wellness initiatives).
  • Track participation and feedback for continuous improvement.


Training & Development

  • Support implementation of training programs and policy updates.
  • Coordinate workforce development initiatives, including WEDnetPA submissions and reporting when applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4–7 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong understanding of employment laws (ADA, FMLA, FLSA, EEO, NLRA)
  • Experience in employee relations, full-cycle recruiting, and HR compliance
  • Proficiency with HRIS and timekeeping systems (e.g., ADP, Kronos, Workday, UKG)
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred


WORKING CONDITIONS:


This is a fully onsite role requiring daily presence at the plant and visibility across multiple shifts. Occasional extended hours may be required for events, audits, or peak hiring periods. Must be able to walk, stand, and lift up to 25 lbs. for event setup or file transport.

Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
