- A command of culinary fundamentals — sauces, stocks, and the techniques that separate good food from unforgettable food.
- An eye for quality that never compromises, from ingredient selection to final plating.
- The stamina to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen, including the ability to move supplies, maintain equipment, and keep your station spotless and up to health code.
- Comfort working in a dynamic, high-heat environment — both literally and figuratively.
- A sharp sense of consistency, ensuring every dish mirrors the standard recipe and the resort’s reputation.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; culinary apprenticeship a strong plus.
- Prior cooking experience preferred.
- Maricopa County Food Service Worker card required.
- Basic math skills for recipes, measurements, and portioning.
- Ability to memorize and execute Resort Standards, AAA Diamond expectations, and Mystery Shopper benchmarks.
