Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Title Abstractor Landman to support land, mineral, and energy development projects throughout Tioga and Bradford Counties in Northeast Pennsylvania. This position combines courthouse research, remote title analysis, and collaboration with landmen, project managers, attorneys, and clients to establish accurate ownership and chain-of-title information for surface and mineral interests.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive title research utilizing county courthouse records, online databases, GIS mapping systems, and proprietary land software.
- Examine and interpret deeds, leases, probate records, easements, mortgages, liens, assignments, tax records, rights-of-way, and other legal instruments affecting title.
- Establish complete chains of title for surface and mineral ownership interests.
- Prepare detailed title abstracts, ownership reports, runsheets, and title summaries for energy, pipeline, and land acquisition projects.
- Identify title defects, curative issues, encumbrances, and ownership discrepancies impacting leasing or development activities.
- Calculate net mineral acres, ownership interests, and leasehold positions.
- Coordinate with landmen, attorneys, title curative specialists, surveyors, and project managers to resolve title issues.
- Maintain organized digital and physical project files while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Travel periodically to county courthouses and recorder offices within Northeast Pennsylvania for onsite research and verification.
- Utilize GIS platforms, mapping systems, and title management software to support project reporting and data accuracy.
- Meet project deadlines while managing multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
