Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for safely transporting, loading, and unloading non-palletized materials, including oversized, irregular, or bundled items that require special handling. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a variety of lift equipment and a strong understanding of material handling safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move non-palletized materials throughout the facility
- Secure and transport loose, bundled, or irregularly shaped materials using appropriate methods (e.g., strapping, dunnage, clamps)
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, or containers in accordance with company and safety standards
- Deliver materials to appropriate departments or staging areas as required for production or shipping
- Assist with material organization, stacking, and storage to optimize space and efficiency
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report any safety or maintenance concerns
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper PPE use and load balancing techniques
- Accurately record material movement and inventory transactions using scanners or manual logs
- Communicate effectively with warehouse, shipping, and production teams to support material flow
Requirements:
- Minimum 1–2 years of forklift operation experience (handling non-standard loads preferred)
- Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Ability to safely move non-palletized and oversized materials using forklifts and attachments
- Familiarity with basic warehouse documentation (receiving, inventory, and work orders)
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
