Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee all aspects of the company’s financial operations. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, compliance, and oversight of accounting processes while partnering closely with leadership to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is hands-on, deadline-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growing environment. This organization is on track to do $30M in 2026 and is rapidly growing!
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Reporting
- Oversee all company financials, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
- Manage financial reporting deadlines on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Issue weekly internal financial reports to leadership
- Complete month-end close by the 12th of each month
- Prepare and maintain monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports
- Develop quarterly cash flow projections aligned with the annual budget
- Create and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and internal/external financial statements
Accounting Operations
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, establishing clear guidelines, controls, and expectations
- Manage client and subcontractor invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to timelines
- Coordinate bi-weekly payroll processing
- Assist with employee benefits administration and new hire setup
Banking, Insurance & Compliance
- Manage banking relationships and oversee the company’s Line of Credit (LOC)
- Coordinate annual audits with third-party auditors
- Oversee insurance renewals and facilitate insurance audits
- Coordinate bonding capacity, rates, and availability
- Oversee and assist with income tax preparation and filings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)
- 8 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Experience managing audits, insurance, bonding, and banking relationships
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally
- Construction or project-based accounting experience is a plus
