Position Summary: We are looking for an FP&A Manager with a strong operational mindset to serve as a true business partner to our operations leadership. This is not a traditional technical accounting role—it's a business ownership position focused on strategic planning, performance analysis, and operational support. You'll work cross-functionally to tell the story of our business through data, enabling smarter decisions and driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Partnership & Business Support
- Serve as the dedicated finance partner to the operations team, providing financial insights and strategic guidance
- Partner with operational leaders to understand business drivers, challenges, and opportunities
- Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders
- Support operational decision-making through scenario modeling and financial analysis
- Act as a trusted advisor to operations leadership on financial implications of business initiatives
Forecasting & Financial Planning
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting processes for operational functions
- Develop and maintain rolling financial forecasts with a focus on operational metrics
- Build financial models to support strategic initiatives, capacity planning, and resource allocation
- Create "what-if" scenarios to help operations leaders evaluate different business strategies
- Partner with operations to ensure forecasts reflect realistic business assumptions
Budgeting & Performance Management
- Drive the annual budgeting process in collaboration with operations team
- Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and trends
- Develop KPIs and dashboards to track operational and financial performance
- Provide variance analysis and insights to explain performance drivers
- Support quarterly business reviews and strategic planning sessions
Data Analytics & Business Insights
- Build executive dashboards and reporting tools (PowerBI, Tableau, or similar) to visualize business performance
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Develop ad-hoc analyses to answer critical business questions
- Create compelling data stories that drive business understanding and action
- Design and maintain reporting frameworks that highlight key operational metrics
Strategic Projects & Process Improvement
- Support strategic initiatives including new product launches, market expansion, and operational improvements
- Lead special projects related to profitability analysis, pricing strategy, and cost optimization
- Identify and implement process improvements in financial planning and reporting
- Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives that require financial expertise
- Drive continuous improvement in how finance supports the business
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 5-7 years of progressive finance experience with significant FP&A exposure
- Strong forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling skills
- Experience partnering with operations or other non-finance business units
- Proven ability to translate financial data into business insights for operational audiences
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, complex formulas, pivot tables)
- Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, or similar)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills—able to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
Desired Experience:
- Background in operational finance or FP&A supporting operations teams
- Experience in start-ups, M&A, or Private Equity
- Track record of building dashboards and self-service reporting tools
- Startup or high-growth company experience
- Experience implementing or improving FP&A processes and systems
