Our client, a global commercial/residential manufacturer of water heating products, is seeking a Mechanical CAD design/drafter to join their team. As a CAD design drafter, you will be part of the Production Engineering Team supporting Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in creating 3D CAD models with recent Solidworks software, updating documentation packages, parts lists, BOM’s and dimensioning (GD&T) plastic and metal parts. This position will not support candidates with visa requirements and there is no relocation. Primary consideration will be to candidates in the Milwaukee, WI metro area and the position is a contract status role with direct hire conversion possibility.

Job Title: Mechanical Design/Drafter, CAD

Key Responsibilities
- Work as a team member within the CAD Department and other departments to create or alter drawings per Product Change Process.
- Develop/Understand 3rd party software needed on daily task
- Understands policies and procedures within the department for assigning part numbers, redlining bills of material, revising drawings and working Product Change Processes while utilizing the company PLM system.
- Work with engineering personnel to ensure correct part-numbering assignments and ensure drawings are in accordance with drafting standards.
- Use measuring devices to check or create manufactured and/or purchased parts.
- Two-year associate’s degree in related field is preferred or 3 years’ experience.
- Understanding of data management or PLM (product lifecycle management) preferred
- Possess good working knowledge of Windows platforms and understands basic windows commands and has a good understanding of windows file system.
- Understands and demonstrated company safety policies and procedures.
- Any other duties are assigned to complete daily objectives. .
