Machining Manager

Our client, a specialized high-precision manufacturing firm supporting the U.S. Navy Submarine Industrial Base, is seeking a Machining Manager to join their team. As a Machining Manager, you will be part of the Operations Department supporting the machining team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to quality and safety, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Machining Manager

Location: South Windham, Connecticut

Pay Range:$100,000 - $125,000

What's the Job?

• Lead the daily operations of the high-precision machining department, ensuring timely and accurate production of mission-critical components.
• Ensure strict compliance with NAVSEA Level I/SUBSAFE requirements, including material control and heat-treat traceability.
• Oversee machining strategies for specialized submarine alloys such as K-Monel, Inconel, Titanium, and HY-80/100 steel.
• Collaborate with CNC programmers to optimize tool paths, reduce cycle times, and achieve first-article success on complex low-volume runs.
• Develop and implement shop floor processes, tooling solutions, and preventative maintenance schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  
  

What's Needed?

• 5 years of CNC machining experience, with a proven track record in high-precision manufacturing environments.
• 3 years of leadership experience managing manufacturing personnel.
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Knowledge of ISO9001 or similar Quality Management Systems and experience operating ERP systems.
