Job Title: Insectary Technician (1-year contract)

Pay Range: $20–$23/hour
What’s the Job?
- Assist with insect and plant-based research experiments in controlled environments
- Collect, record, and manage high-quality data while meeting deadlines
- Perform daily insect colony maintenance including feeding, egg collection, sanitation, and setup
- Support plant care and maintenance in greenhouse, growth chamber, and field settings
- Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for research activities and maintain a clean, safe workspace
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in entomology, agriculture, horticulture, plant science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow standard operating and safety protocols
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills with a proactive mindset
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn internal systems
- Ability to stand/sit for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in warm, humid environments performing repetitive tasks
