Patient Services Representative

Position Summary

Provide exceptional patient support services by welcoming patients, registering appointments, verifying insurance eligibility, processing payments and discounts, scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and delivering outstanding customer service in a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete patient registration and update information in electronic health records and financial systems.
• Perform patient check-in and check-out procedures.
• Assist patients with forms, consent documents, payment agreements, and non-medical needs.
• Verify insurance eligibility and process payments, including cash and credit/debit transactions.
• Review accounts, identify delinquent balances, and collect overdue payments.
• Answer calls, schedule appointments, make reminder calls, and route inquiries appropriately.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and HIPAA-compliant patient records and documentation.
• Process, track, and manage medical records and record requests.
• Serve as a professional first point of contact for patients and visitors.
• Support departmental projects and collaborate with community partners as needed.
• Cross-train in front desk, call center, and medical records functions.
• Assist with training staff and supporting team initiatives when required.
• Promote a positive, customer-focused, and collaborative work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• English language, grammar, spelling, and communication skills.
