Duties

• Thoroughly clean dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following proper sanitation procedures to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning supplies to support chefs and cooks.
• Bypass dirty dishes from dining areas and bus tables promptly to maintain cleanliness in dining spaces and kitchen areas.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, sinks, and manual tools like knives, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Handle food items with care during preparation and cleaning processes, ensuring proper food handling practices are followed at all times.
• Support heavy lifting tasks such as moving supplies or equipment safely within the kitchen environment.
• Follow all food safety management guidelines and sanitation standards to uphold health regulations and prevent contamination.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key!
• Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and sanitation standards is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including lifting heavy items when necessary.
• Basic knife skills and familiarity with operating kitchen equipment are advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness, organization, and safety in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting culinary staff and maintaining high standards of hygiene.
