Patient Access RepresentativeLocation: San Diego, CA 92123Shift: Evening – 5x8 (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)Contract Length: 12 monthsPosition OverviewSeeking an experienced Patient Access Representative II to support the Admitting and Registration functions within the Rose Pavilion. This role ensures patients and families receive accurate registration, scheduling, benefit verification, and authorization support for inpatient, outpatient, and diagnostic services.The ideal candidate offers strong communication skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced hospital environment with accuracy and professionalism.Key ResponsibilitiesRegister, schedule, and verify insurance/authorization requirements for all patient types (inpatient, outpatient, diagnostics).Communicate effectively with families, payers, clinical staff, and internal departments.Verify insurance benefits, eligibility, referrals, and managed care requirements.Perform high-accuracy data entry using Epic and standard computer systems.Provide customer service to diverse populations, ensuring a positive patient experience.Maintain productivity standards and follow all departmental workflow guidelines.Utilize basic medical terminology during patient interactions and documentation.Required QualificationsMinimum 2 years experience in a healthcare setting OR1 year experience in call-center/department-specific functions.General knowledge of managed care, scheduling, registration, billing, and claims.High School Diploma/GED required.Basic computer proficiency and ability to type/data-enter efficiently.Familiarity with medical terminology (or 6 months experience in a healthcare environment).Experience with insurance verification and authorizations.
