Summary: The Mechanical Systems Engineer I is responsible for the development and evaluation of systems and components within the scope of delivery in the field of turbomachinery. Accountable for providing plant engineering solutions, which include systems and assemblies, design and specifications of technical components, and internal/external coordination between customers, suppliers, various disciplines, as well as external colleagues. The Systems Engineer is also in charge of reviewing and evaluating customer specifications and advising customers on technical solutions.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Responsibility for the development and evaluation of technical components (heat exchangers, filters, control valves, process piping) and systems (lube oil & dry gas seal systems) within the scope of delivery
Development / configuration of plant engineering solutions for customer projects in the field of turbomachinery
Design and specification of technical components, assemblies and systems
Internal coordination as well as coordination between customers and suppliers and other disciplines
Reviewing and evaluating customer specifications, advising customers on technical solutions
Review and develop purchase order specifications based on customer specifications, standards, and internal regulations
Preparation of assembly and commissioning documents
Participation in technical negotiations with suppliers and customers
Development/standardization of components and/or assemblies related to system and plant engineering
Support during commissioning of the scope of delivery
Responsible for the electrical and automation engineering including instrumentation of turbomachinery, this includes the engineering of packages as well as the design, specification and execution of EI&C components in the function of a subproject manager
Achieve goals for the external packaging which leads to the fulfillment of the project contractual obligations.
Implementation of legal and operational requirements (e.g HSS) as part of project management
Coordinate customer inspection and testing activities with the project PM.
Coordinate MAN inspections and witness testing with the project PM.
Assist in resolving non-compliance issues.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Education:
Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering
Required Experience:
0-3 plus years pertinent turbomachinery packaging experience of complex projects
Required 3rd party Certifications/Qualifications: None.
Other skills:
Experience with and use of tools: 3D modeling, 2D drawing software, SAP, MS Office, CAESAR, HTRI
2nd language German or Spanish preferred.
