I. University Overview
Affiliated with the Evangelical Friends-Eastern Region denomination, Malone strives to provide an education that produces graduates with a love of truth and a vibrant, mature faith. III. Job Summary
Malone University seeks an Assistant Professor of Sport Management to be the core faculty member of the Sport Management program, which is housed in the Division of Business and Technologies. The division currently holds 10 majors and 13 minors. Individuals with expertise in Sport Management are encouraged to apply.
IV. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties, tasks and responsibilities: (The following duties are not to be considered a complete list of duties and responsibilities assigned to this position.)
- The required teaching load is 24 credits per academic year.
- Faculty are encouraged to engage in experiential learning techniques inside and outside of the classroom.
- Designing/developing curriculum in a way that stimulates student’s minds and enhances their capacity to learn.
- Teach courses in the Sport Management program and other related courses at the undergraduate level. Areas may include Business Management, Business Administration, Economics, and/or Marketing.
- Additional teaching assignments will be based on the area of expertise of the chosen candidate.
- Advising and mentoring undergraduate students.
- Cultivate and develop external relationships that facilitate opportunities for guest speaking, internships, post graduate work, and scholarships.
- Participate in professional associations that correlate with Sport Management.
- Engage in scholarship and community service
- Serve on departmental & institutional committees
- University service is required appropriate to academic rank
- Supervising undergraduate research.
- Secure external funding for research and training projects, when applicable.

VI. Education and Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in Sport Management or a subfield and a minimum of three (3) years full-time equivalent of tested experience in the discipline; or
- A master’s degree in any discipline and a nationally-recognized credential (certification, license, etc.) for Sport Management and a minimum of three (3) years full-time equivalent of tested experience in the discipline.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Sport Management or subfield and a minimum of three (3) years full-time equivalent of tested experience in the discipline.
- Strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring, professional development and scholarly research
- Commitment to the Christian faith and a commitment to the integration of faith and learning in the academic discipline
