Service Writer

Description:

A Service Writer/Estimator maintains accurate and on-time reports and evaluations relative to the service shop’s operation within the company. Assure that all changes related to work orders are posted properly and processed in a timely manner. Our service writers must conduct themselves in the presence of customers in a manner that promotes the image of our company.

Responsibilities:

• First point of customer contact regarding repair.
• Open work orders as directed and maintain control until closed and invoiced.
• Generate formal repair quotes for various bid jobs.
• Answer incoming customer calls, concerning incoming repairs, giving status updates on work orders, and explaining options available for repair or replacement.
• Maintain a high level of customer service by addressing all the customers concerns.
• Account for all material to be used in work order projects.
• Monitor back orders and machine work for timely repairs and meeting customer requirement dates.
• Notify shop of approved repair or replacement.
• Follow all guidelines set up in the service department.
• Coordinate with the shipping department for timely return of completed repairs and replacements.
• Operate forklift and/or hoist to unload or load customer's equipment to be worked on.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent, 2-year technical degree preferred.
• Mechanical or electrical aptitude or related experience preferred.
• Basic math skills.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft products.
• Strong organizational, time management and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent email and phone etiquette, communication skills and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team and be safety minded.
• Ability to lift 50 LBS.
• Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
