Service Writer:
The Service Writer is the first point of contact for Customers or Sales agents bringing devices to the shop for repair. They oversee the timely processing of work orders from creation to shipment handling customer updates, work order notation, parts allocation, and more. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Works under moderate supervisor. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Typically requires 1-3 years of related experience or may need 0 years of experience with additional training and/or certification.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Answer incoming calls and estimate follow up.
- Entering Work Order information.
- Responding to customer emails on status updates.
- Reporting and Filing.
- Gather parts for work orders
- Take photos of incoming service projects and review before estimate is provided.
- Coordinate with the shop foreman on work orders and inspection review.
- Assist with Parts track down and Shipping responsibilities as needed.
- Contribute to team efforts.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma and/or technical training.
- Professional communication skills.
- Good phone etiquette.
- Computer skills including Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Able to lift 40 lbs.
- Willingness to take direction.
- Basic Math skills.
- Enthusiastic and willing to take on responsibility.
- Safety minded.
