The position supports the Service Manager in overseeing daily operations of the technician team to ensure efficient, high-quality repair and maintenance work. This role coordinates cross-departmental communication between service, sales, warranty, and parts teams to align customer and operational priorities. Responsibilities include assisting with task assignments, maintaining safety and regulatory compliance, managing technician schedules, and ensuring accurate documentation within business systems. The position also involves direct customer interaction, addressing service updates and resolving escalated issues. Success in this role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and the ability to make quick, sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Working knowledge of truck shop operations and mechanical experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with both internal teams and customers.
- Proficiency with standard business software and ability to learn proprietary systems.
Essential Functions:
1. Assist Supervise and Direct Technicians
- Assist supervisor in oversight of daily operations of the technician team to ensure timely and quality completion of repair and maintenance jobs. During shift/tour of duty…
- Assign tasks based on skill level, job priority, and shop capacity with input from service manager.
2. Communicate Across Departments
- Serve as the liaison between the shop and sales, warranty, and parts departments.
- Provide status updates, coordinate scheduling, and ensure alignment on customer and operational needs.
3. Maintain a Safe and Compliant Work Environment
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company regulations.
- Conduct safety checks and report incidents or hazards as required.
4. Handle Customer Interactions
- Communicate with customers in a friendly, professional manner regarding service needs, job status, and repairs.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns or complaints in a timely and effective way.
5. Use and Manage Business Systems
- Enter and review job details, technician hours, and parts usage in the company’s computer system. Make sure the right time is with the right operation.
6. Support Scheduling and Resource Planning
- Manage technician schedules to balance workload and meet deadlines.
- Coordinate with parts and service advisors to ensure timely job preparation and follow-through.
7. Lead in a Fast-Paced, Dynamic Environment
- Make quick, informed decisions to address issues as they arise.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
