Mid-sized law firm seeking an experienced Evictions/Unlawful Detainer - Contract Attorney to manage a caseload in California and other Western states. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of unlawful detainer experience, as well as related experience representing landlords, tenants, creditors, and/or loan servicers.The attorney will handle a variety of primarily residential unlawful detainer matters, including but not limited to issues involving rent control, complex tenancy disputes, contested matters, motions for summary judgment, discovery, motions in limine, trial briefs, and both bench and jury trials. Responsibilities also include working with a team of paralegals and support staff, monitoring workflow, and managing client relations.The Firm will consider a JD candidate with eviction/unlawful detainer experience and/or a seasoned experienced paralegal in the evictions/unlawful detainer field. Basic Requirements:Active license to practice law in California (admission in other Western states is helpful but not required)Minimum 5 years of unlawful detainer litigation experience.Preferred Qualifications:Strong legal research and writing skillsAbility to lead, prioritize, and effectively multitaskExperience managing a high-volume caseloadStrong interpersonal and communication skillsExperience representing creditorsExperience with post-foreclosure evictions/unlawful detainersThis is a contract attorney position with estimated hours of approximately 20 per week.Please submit your resume and cover letter for consideration.Qualified candidates should apply asap.
