MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Security Hardware / Access Control Technician to support an undisclosed client in Anaheim. This role involves hands-on work with electrified door systems, access control hardware, key boxes, badge readers, and various electronic security components across the clients facilities.The technician will manage, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain all approved security hardware while maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring safety compliance. This position will transition to a 3rd shift schedule once training is completed.Key ResponsibilitiesSecurity Hardware & SystemsInstall, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain:Access control system components (controllers, reader boards, I/O boards, alarm boards)Electrified door hardware (12v/24v locks, mag locks, power supplies, panic hardware, strikes, readers, sensors, photo beams, etc.)Electronic key boxesSecurity printers and related devicesDaily TasksPerform routine and preventive maintenance on security hardware and electronics.Respond promptly to repair requests and system concerns.Utilize work order systems to track issues, actions, and resolutions.Diagnose technical issues using proper troubleshooting methods and test equipment.Coordinate materials, tools, and resources required for repairs.Interpret manuals, schematics, blueprints, and drawings.Create and update procedures, documentation, and reports.Monitor and maintain adequate spare parts inventory.Report any unresolvable safety concerns immediately.Participate in emergency response if needed.Occasional weekend/holiday work may be required.Required Skills & QualificationsMinimum 2 years of experience in access control, security hardware, or related field.Strong troubleshooting skills in electronics and related systems.Ability to work independently in both structured and unstructured environments.Strong communication skills (electronic and verbal).Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through.Familiarity with general electrical and electronics safety practices.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment with shifting priorities.Must maintain professional appearance and demeanor.Valid CA Drivers License or equivalent.Ability to obtain Lenel Certification within the first 2 years (training provided).Must be 18 years of age or older.Preferred QualificationsLow voltage technician or related field service experience.Access control certifications.Security hardware courses or certifications.Electronic key box training.
