What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at MAK Steel Services, LLC?
Position Summary
MAK Group is a growing steel fabrication and erection platform with three operating companies. We need a staff accountant to keep the books accurate, close the month on time, and help build the reporting our leadership team runs the business on. You will work directly with our Corporate Controller and see every part of the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger across multiple entities
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts monthly
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Record intercompany transactions and reconcile balances between entities
- Post payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll accounts
- Support job costing and work-in-progress reporting on fabrication and erection projects
- Assist with inventory reconciliations for steel and materials
- Prepare month-end close schedules and support financial statement preparation
- Support annual audit, tax filings, and lender reporting
- Identify process gaps and help build cleaner systems as we grow
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 2 years of accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing or construction
- Hands-on month-end close and account reconciliation experience
- Strong Excel skills
- Job costing or multi-entity experience a plus
- Detail-oriented and comfortable in a lean, fast-moving team
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
