As our client base continues to expand, we are seeking a In-Person Staff Accountant to help us maintain the high level of service and personal attention our clients have come to expect. Dennis & Blish CPA Inc. is a full-service tax, accounting, and business consulting firm based in Seymour, Indiana.
Role Description: The Staff Accountant will assist with bookkeeping, payroll, financial statement preparation, tax return preparation, and client support. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow their accounting skills in a collaborative environment while working directly with a variety of businesses and individuals.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain client bookkeeping records
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll tax filings
- Prepare bank and account reconciliations
- Assist with individual and business tax return preparation
- Help prepare financial statements and month-end reports
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding accounting matters
- Support senior accountants and CPAs on client engagements
- Utilize accounting software and technology to improve efficiencies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Experience with accounting and tax software, and knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to manage multiple deadlines during busy seasons.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment and maintain client confidentiality.
- Prior public accounting or tax firm experience preferred (1-3 years).
