Office 365 Architect @ Lexington, Massachusetts (Hybrid)
We are seeking an experienced Office 365 Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role will define the overall architecture, governance, security, and integration strategy across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Azure AD, and related Microsoft cloud services.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on architect with deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and user‑friendly solutions. This position is based in Lexington, MA with a hybrid work model.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Strategy
- Architect end‑to‑end Microsoft 365 solutions across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Azure AD.
- Develop governance frameworks, naming conventions, lifecycle policies, and tenant‑level standards.
- Define modernization and migration roadmaps aligned with business goals.
- Evaluate and integrate third‑party tools and enterprise systems.
Implementation & Migration
- Lead migrations from on‑premises systems (Exchange, SharePoint, File Servers) to Office 365.
- Architect hybrid identity models (Azure AD Connect, federation, SSO).
- Design Teams and SharePoint site structures, information architecture, and permissions models.
Security & Compliance
- Implement security best practices including Conditional Access, MFA, DLP, MDM/MAM, and Zero Trust principles.
- Configure compliance features such as retention policies, eDiscovery, audit logs, and data governance.
- Partner with security teams to ensure alignment with corporate and regulatory requirements.
Automation & Optimization
- Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell, Graph API, and Power Platform.
- Optimize performance, licensing, and cost management across the tenant.
- Monitor service health, usage analytics, and proactively resolve issues.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Serve as the subject‑matter expert for all Microsoft 365 technologies.
- Work with business stakeholders to design solutions that improve productivity and collaboration.
- Mentor engineers and administrators on best practices and architectural patterns.
🧠 Required Skills & Experience
Technical Expertise
- 7 years of experience architecting and administering Office 365 / Microsoft 365 environments.
- Deep knowledge of:
- Exchange Online

- PowerShell scripting
- Security & Compliance Center
- Experience with hybrid identity, SSO, federation, and Azure AD Connect.
- Strong understanding of networking, authentication, and cloud security.

- Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness.
- Enterprise‑scale migration experience.
