Job Description:

The Role: Patient Care Monitor Technician

Works in collaboration with the medical-surgical inpatient nursing teams to care for patients requiring cardiac/ telemetry monitoring.

The Opportunity:

• The Patient Care monitor technician will monitor patients’ heart rates and rhythms for any deviations from normal and will notify appropriate staff as needed.
• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors. Identifies significant arrhythmias and rhythm changes and intervenes appropriately. Identifies and corrects for artifacts.

The Work:

Reports abnormal telemetry findings or changes to nursing staff using appropriate systems.

You Have:

• BLS certification is required within 3 months of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Will be required to complete an arrhythmia recognition class and attend mandatory updates as required.
• 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Must demonstrate basic computer skills.
• Must be proficient in medical terminology.
