Title: Accounts Receivable Coordinator
Bargaining Unit/Salary Level: Salary and Benefits commensurate with the Agreement between the MCCS Trustees and the MSEA Support Services Unit. The position is budgeted at Range 19, Step C, $26.30 hourly.
Central Maine Community College is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join our Student Financial Service team. This position plays a key role in managing student accounts and supporting excellent customer service across the campus community.
Responsibilities:
- Providing high-quality customer service to students, parents, faculty, and staff by responding to inquiries, concerns, and questions related to accounts and billing.
- Supervising frontline staff, including assigning daily workload, ensuring accuracy of duties, and providing training in customer service and related responsibilities.
- Managing student accounts within the Student Information System (SIS), including reconciling financial aid disbursements using financial aid and registration reports.
- Processing student stipends via paper check, Positive Pay, and/or direct deposit.
- Managing the TouchNet System, including importing, deleting, and updating student ID numbers; establishing book allowances; and defining and maintaining meal plans.
- Managing the student account collections process.
- Recommending and developing process efficiencies and customer service standards related to student billing and refunds.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Business or a related discipline
- Six or more years of relevant experience (e.g., data management, collections, accounting)
- Proficiency with computer systems such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong knowledge of standard business office procedures and practices
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively and professionally with a diverse public
