Sea-Doo Technician

Job Summary:

Main Channel Marina is seeking a dependable and technically skilled Sea‑Doo Technician to join our marine service team. This role is ideal for a candidate with 2–5 years of experience in personal watercraft (PWC) maintenance and repair, with a strong focus on BRP / Sea‑Doo models.

The Sea‑Doo Technician will be responsible for advanced diagnostics, mechanical and electrical repairs, routine maintenance, and accessory installations. This position also plays a mentoring role by supporting junior technicians, conducting water tests, and ensuring all service work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards. A thorough understanding of Sea‑Doo systems and a commitment to high‑quality workmanship are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Advanced Diagnostics & Troubleshooting

• Use BRP diagnostic software and tools to identify and resolve engine, electrical, and fuel system issues.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting on jet propulsion systems, cooling systems, and electronic control modules (ECMs).
• Diagnose and repair CAN bus communication issues and sensor malfunctions.

Mechanical & Electrical Repairs

• Rebuild and replace jet pumps, wear rings, impellers, and drive shafts.
• Service and replace throttle bodies, injectors, and ignition coils.
• Repair hull damage, including fiberglass work and cosmetic restoration.

Preventative Maintenance

• Conduct full-service inspections including oil changes, spark plug replacement, battery testing, and lubrication.
• Inspect and maintain steering and reverse systems.
• Perform seasonal prep and winterization/de-winterization procedures.

Accessory Installation & Configuration

• Install and configure GPS systems, depth finders, audio systems, and LED lighting.
• Integrate after-market performance parts and ensure compatibility with factory systems.

Water Testing & Quality Assurance

• Conduct water trials to verify repairs and performance.
• Adjust tuning and calibrations based on test results.

Documentation & Communication

• Maintain accurate service records and repair logs in dealership software.
• Communicate repair findings and recommendations to service advisors and customers.
• Assist with parts ordering and inventory tracking.

Team Support & Training

• Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians.
• Participate in BRP training programs and stay current with service bulletins.
• Uphold safety standards and cleanliness in the service bay.

Qualifications:

· 2–5 years of experience in PWC, marine engine, or powersports repair.

· Strong working knowledge of BRP / Sea‑Doo systems and diagnostic tools.

· Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.

· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

· Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate personal watercraft.

· BRP certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification.
