A wonderful family with school-age children is seeking a Private Driver to join their team in Coral Gables, Florida. This is a family driver role, so the ideal candidate should be genuinely good with children and comfortable supporting the family’s day-to-day transportation needs with warmth, professionalism, and discretion.
This is a full-time position for a highly flexible, discreet, and service-minded professional who understands the pace and expectations of a busy private household. In addition to driving responsibilities, the candidate should be willing to support the household with errands, deliveries, and occasional light outdoor house chores as needed.
The ideal candidate has a background in law enforcement, the military, or private security. The family is looking for a professional who is approachable, calm under pressure, and able to build trust with both principals and their children while maintaining the highest level of situational awareness and discretion.
As most driving will occur in Miami, preference is given to candidates with experience driving for a private family or executive in Miami. Some travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Drive the principals, family, and guests with the highest levels of professionalism, discretion, and safety
- Maintain exceptional scheduling flexibility, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and short-notice assignments, adapting to changing needs
- Oversee vehicle care including cleaning, servicing, repairs, insurance, registration, and maintaining detailed service and mileage records
- Utilize extensive knowledge of Miami and the surrounding communities to optimize travel routes, avoid delays, and anticipate traffic conditions
- Assist with personal errands, logistical tasks, and general household support as needed, handling all matters efficiently and discreetly
Requirements
- Prior experience working as a private driver for a UHNW family or principal
- A background in law enforcement, military, or private security is preferred
- Executive Protection training and strong situational awareness is a plus
- Excellent, verifiable references
- Extensive knowledge of Miami and surrounding areas
- Flexible schedule with willingness to work long hours as needed
- Comfortable driving children and supporting family transportation needs
- Competent in operating and maintaining luxury vehicles and managing the related administrative requirements.
- Displays professionalism, excellent judgment, discretion, and confidentiality; communicates clearly with the principals, family members, and staff in both written and verbal interactions
- Some spoken Spanish is a plus
- Must hold valid U.S. work authorization and a U.S. driver’s license
Schedule
- Generally, Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm
Compensation & Benefits
- Base compensation of $100,000-$150,000 commensurate with experience
- Annual discretionary bonus
- Benefits include medical, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k) with match, PTO, paid holidays, sick days
