Position Summary
Xcel Energy is seeking a detail-oriented Project Coordinator (Business Professional I) to support internal business operations through backlog work order reconciliation and coordination activities. This role is ideal for a highly organized individual who thrives working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for reviewing, processing, and reconciling assigned backlog work orders, ensuring all required actions are completed accurately and efficiently. The individual will work through assigned task lists and receive additional assignments as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Review, reconcile, and process backlog work orders
Complete assigned task lists accurately and efficiently
Track progress using Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
Communicate with internal coordinators and stakeholders to resolve issues
Collaborate with internal teams including HR, compensation, and hiring managers
Ensure data accuracy and timely completion of deliverables
Escalate issues appropriately while maintaining independent workflow ownership
Typical Day
Reviewing and processing backlog work orders
Updating tracking tools and reports in Excel
Communicating with internal stakeholders to clarify or resolve discrepancies
Working independently to complete assigned deliverables
Collaborating with fellow coordinators when necessary
Work Environment & Schedule
Hybrid model:
Work from home: Monday and Friday
In office: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Flexible start times (some employees begin as early as 6:00 AM)
Standard business hours
No overtime expected
No late-night or overnight shifts
No travel required
This is an individual contributor role within a collaborative team environment.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently while collaborating when needed
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Team-oriented, adaptable mindset
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SAP
Experience in work order management
Prior customer service experience
Experience in the power or utility industry (preferred but not required)
