The Opportunity

Richmond, VA | 100% Onsite | Full-Time | $145,000–$165,000 annually

A growing tax services organization is adding a Senior Tax Manager to its team to lead client engagements, provide high-level tax guidance, and help strengthen relationships across a diverse client portfolio. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex individual and business tax matters while partnering closely with clients and internal professionals. The ideal candidate will bring strong public accounting experience, sound technical judgment, and an interest in contributing to a growing practice.

What You'll Do

• Lead the planning and execution of tax engagements for individuals and closely held businesses, including S corporations, partnerships, and LLCs.
• Review federal and state tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable requirements.
• Advise clients on tax planning opportunities and provide practical recommendations based on their individual circumstances.
• Research complex tax questions and apply relevant federal and state regulations to client situations.
• Manage multiple engagements and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of client service and work quality.
• Serve as a key point of contact for clients and develop long-term professional relationships.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other tax professionals while collaborating with leadership on practice initiatives.

What You Bring

• 6 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a professional tax services environment.
• Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals, S corporations, partnerships, and LLCs.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations and the ability to research and resolve complex tax matters.
• Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements, priorities, and deadlines independently.
• Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Experience reviewing the work of other tax professionals and providing constructive guidance.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Active CPA license or another relevant professional tax credential.
• Experience providing tax planning, consulting, or advisory services to clients.

Compensation & Benefits:

$145,000–$165,000 annually, based on experience. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity. The role offers the opportunity for professional growth within an expanding tax practice, along with meaningful client exposure and the ability to take on increasing responsibility.
