Job Summary
Madsen Construction, Inc. is a leading industrial and commercial construction company, with a focus in structural concrete, steel, civil and earthwork, based in Southwest Wyoming. We manage a diverse range of commercial projects in the industrial, mining, oil/gas and commercial sectors. We are rapidly growing and expanding our project portfolio.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring that all aspects of construction projects are financially viable. This role requires a strong understanding of construction management and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.
Responsibilities
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop comprehensive project budgets and timelines.
- Utilize estimating software such as PlanSwift to create accurate estimates and track costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information necessary for accurate estimating.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals, ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
- Monitor ongoing project costs and implement cost control measures as necessary to maintain budget integrity.
- Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients regarding pricing, contracts, and project specifications.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
- Proficiency in construction estimating techniques and tools, including PlanSwift and Bluebeam.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex construction documents.
- Familiarity with cost control processes and contract management in a construction environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in estimates.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of risk management principles and continuous improvement practices
