What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP / Director, Relationship Manager – Middle Market Corporates position at Madison-Davis, LLC?
Title: VP / Director, Relationship Manager – Middle Market Corporates
Office Status: Hybrid – New York, NY (Midtown East)
Base Salary: $200,000 – $250,000 (commensurate with experience)
Overview:
A well-capitalized banking platform is adding a VP or Director level Relationship Manager to its Middle Market coverage team in New York. Unlike roles at larger institutions where coverage responsibilities are heavily segmented and deal flow is largely inherited, this position is built for someone who wants genuine ownership of their client relationships from day one. The bank offers a credible platform and real product capability, but it is the banker who drives the business. If you are at a stage in your career where you want less hand-holding and more room to show what you can do, this is the kind of seat that rewards that mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Originate new client relationships within the middle market corporate segment, typically companies in the $500MM to $2B revenue range, with a strong emphasis on bilateral lending as the foundation of each relationship.
- Tap into an existing professional network to bring new-to-bank clients onto the platform, with a clear expectation of steady annual client acquisition and revenue contribution.
- Structure and execute corporate lending transactions generally in the $20MM to $75MM range, applying sound credit judgment and a practical understanding of what works for middle market borrowers.
- Participate in syndicated and club deals where appropriate, using those transactions as a deliberate first step toward becoming a more central part of a client's banking group.
- Cover clients in a high-touch, consistent way that reflects a genuine interest in their business rather than a transactional approach to relationship management.
- Manage an assigned portfolio with attention to both growth and quality, ensuring new business activity does not come at the expense of sound risk oversight.
- Prepare and present detailed credit analysis, financial modeling, and risk assessments for both new transactions and ongoing portfolio reviews.
- Coordinate across credit, legal, and operations internally to keep deals moving efficiently and ensure nothing falls through the cracks at execution.
- Keep a close eye on market trends and sector developments that affect middle market borrowers and shape the lending environment, bringing that perspective into client conversations.
Salary : $200,000 - $250,000
