A leading global financial institution is seeking a senior-level Credit Risk executive to lead coverage across Hedge Funds, Private Equity sponsors, and alternative asset managers within its Counterparty Credit platform. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity managing a team responsible for complex trading, financing, and structured credit exposures tied to sophisticated institutional counterparties.
The role offers broad exposure across Prime Brokerage, derivatives, lending, and structured financing activities while partnering closely with Front Office leadership, Legal, Market Risk, and executive stakeholders globally. Ideal for candidates with deep alternative investment credit expertise and prior approval authority experience within a major banking platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a North America-based credit team focused on hedge funds, private capital firms, and institutional asset managers
- Manage credit underwriting, approvals, internal ratings, and exposure limits across a diverse alternatives portfolio
- Evaluate counterparty risk tied to derivatives, securities financing, lending facilities, prime brokerage, and bespoke financing structures
- Conduct detailed fundamental analysis of fund strategies, liquidity profiles, leverage metrics, operational infrastructure, and sponsor strength
- Lead client due diligence meetings and maintain direct interaction with senior investment professionals and external counterparties
- Partner with trading desks and risk partners to review complex transactions, margin methodologies, stress exposure scenarios, and risk mitigation structures
- Oversee ongoing portfolio surveillance including NAV reviews, performance monitoring, concentration analysis, and escalation of emerging risks
- Review and negotiate credit-related provisions tied to ISDA, CSA, Prime Brokerage, repo, and financing documentation
- Present portfolio updates, risk themes, and material exposures to regional and global risk committees
Mentor and develop junior team members while helping drive strategic initiatives, process enhancements, and risk framework improvements
